Centers Plan for Healthy Living (CPHL), part of Centers Health Care, officially launched its new office in Flushing on August 18, celebrating with a ribbon-cutting event attended by local leaders, staff, and CEO Kenny Rozenberg.

The decision to expand into Flushing wasn’t random. The demand for managed long-term care in the area had been growing, especially within the Asian community. Employees in the field saw firsthand that many residents weren’t getting the culturally sensitive care they needed. CPHL took action—setting up shop in the heart of the neighborhood, hiring locally, and making sure services were offered in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Korean.

“This wasn’t just about opening an office,” said Mark Bloom, CPHL’s Chief Operating Officer. “We knew we had to do it the right way—by becoming part of the community, not just showing up. That meant hiring staff from the neighborhood, preparing materials in the right languages, and making sure people felt comfortable the moment they walked through the door.”

The office opened with 18 employees, all fluent in multiple languages, and plans to double that number soon. But staffing up was just one part of the plan. The nurses, home health aides, and therapists providing care are also part of the community, ensuring patients feel understood—not just medically, but culturally.

Moshe Adelman, who led the initiative, made it clear that CPHL isn’t here to push a service—it’s here to make a difference. “People want care from those who understand them. That’s why we built a team that reflects the community. This isn’t just a program—it’s about real people helping real people.”

Alain Koek, Director of Asian Community Initiatives, agreed. “It’s easy to print brochures in different languages, but that’s not enough. What matters is trust. That’s why we brought in Yvonne Li as Clinical Team Manager—she’s from the community, and her team is, too. We’re not here for a short stay; we’re here to build something lasting.”

Kenny Rozenberg, CEO of Centers Health Care, was at the ribbon-cutting and emphasized that this was just the beginning. “This took a lot of planning, and today shows we made the right decision. The welcome we got from the community proves that Flushing is where we need to be. We’re not just here to open an office—we’re here to serve.”

The CPHL Flushing office is located at 130-30 31st Ave. For more information, call 718-215-7000.
